IRP 2019

The IRP is an electricity infrastructure development plan based on least-cost electricity supply and demand balance, taking into account security of supply and the environment. The promulgated IRP 2010–2030 identifies preferred generation technologies required to meet expected demand growth up to 2030.

The Department of Energy published The Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)2019, on Friday, 18 October. New allocations in the plan are as follows:

  1. 1. Solar PV: 6000MW
  2. 2. Wind: 14 400MW
  3. 3. Distributed generation, Co-generation and landfill gas: 4000MW
  4. 4. Energy storage technologies: 2088MW
