An application to introduce import tariffs for solar PV Modules has been raised with ITAC and the Department of Trade and Industry. The gazetted notice was published on the 29th March 2019 and is supported by local manufacturers which would include the likes of;

- Solar PV Modules manufacturer based in Durban
- ILB Seraphim
- Solar PV Module manufacturer based in East London
- Hulamin
- Aluminium Extrusion manufacturing plant
- PG Glass
- De-ironed glass manufacturer
