Solar Experts and Specialists wanted.
If you consider yourself an expert in your field, we need your expertise. Specialists from other Countries are welcome to join.
The Association for Renewable Energy Practitioners(AREP) developed the Solar Specialist Platform (SSP) which is a Quality Assurance Platform for measuring the knowledge of installers and designers in the solar PV sector.
The AREP SSP Level 1 test has been welcomed by industry, as more than 400 candidates have written the Level 1 test Since February 2019. This test has been written at Rubicon(Jhb, CT, PE), Herholdts(Bfn), ACDC(JHB), Ellies(Jhb), Art Solar(KZN), PQRS with Voltex, AllElec, Energyneering, and a number of other distributors/training providers in the pipeline, currently written at 30 venues throughout SA.
Due to the number of candidates requesting to write the Level 2 test, AREP is inviting members from industry to participate in drafting questions for the Level 2 and 3 tests.
The level 2 test consists of 12 categories namely:
- Power and Energy
- Module technology
- Irradiation
- Temperature Coefficients
- Mounting structures
- Drawings and diagrams
- Electrical Theory
- Standards & Safety
- System Sizing
- Electrical Switching & Safety
- Surge Protection and Earthing
- Batteries
Rules for participating in setting up questions/answers are as follows:
Any installer, designer, supplier, engineer or academic considering themselves knowledgeable in any of the categories may join. Participation is Free of charge, voluntary as well as being non-remunerated.
12 categories have been broken down into 5 groups. Each group will be represented by a panel of subject matter experts(One of the Subject matter experts could be you).
